Yearbook advisers may choose to add text to a yearbook’s spine. Examples of common spine text include the title of the yearbook, a slogan, or the school name.
To add spine text, open your cover and click the "Spine Text" tab in the left column to reveal the spine text editor.
Note: Spine text is NOT available on softcover books that have less than 70 pages. The spine must be wide enough to support the spine text. We recommend waiting until you have added all the pages to your book before adding spine text. We recommend this because the width of the spine will increase or decrease based on the total number of pages.
You can choose whether you want your text in the center of the spine or at the top and bottom. Click the radio button for your choice.
Type the spine text you want into the "Type spine text" box
Several fonts are available in the font selector, but not all of the fonts will be activated to ensure proper placement and readability. Once you choose your font, select the size and color. You can also make the text bold, italicized, or underlined.
In addition to the standard type treatments, you may also choose to display your spine text vertically by clicking the text direction button
The last option is a background color for the spine. Using this feature may make your text stand out better against a busy cover design.
